Writer Unboxed began as a collaboration between Kathleen Bolton and Therese Walsh in 2006. Since then, the site has grown to include ~50 regular contributors and a variety of guests on rotation throughout a given year.
In 2016, the Writer Unboxed team published a book with Writer’s Digest / Random House. AUTHOR IN PROGRESS: A No-Holds-Barred Guide to What It Really Takes to Get Published is a comprehensive guide focused on helping writers over/around/through hurdles faced at every stage of the novel-writing process. It’s received some ***** reviews; we hope you’ll check it out.
If you’d like to be among the first to know about the next Writer Unboxed UnConference, which will likely tie-in with WU’s 20th Anniversary celebration, please sign up for our mailing list!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It’s funny that these days we hear a lot about how the digital world has supplanted a lot of face-to-face encounters, more’s the pity — but hey, for us writers, who’ve always spent a lot of time alone, locked in a room, staring at the screen (or a good old analog piece of paper), it’s a reality we’re more than familiar with. And since in order to write we’re still (oft duct taped) to the chair, the digital world can feel so . . . incredibly real, life saving at times, and surprisingly intimate (especially since we’re so often in our PJs). I’m soooo grateful for Writer Unboxed, and all of you — it’s a home away from home when we’re, um, at home. Hey, maybe there’s a story in that . . . Onward! (With love ;-)
Happy TG back atcha. This website and all who hang out here are on my list of things I’m grateful for.
