From the Mailbox

Look. Ain’t it purty?
This is the cover of my forthcoming CONFESSIONS OF A FIRST DAUGHTER, which releases September 1. My editor at Working Partners LTD sent it over a few months back, but we’d only gotten permission from HarperTeen to release the image last week. I’m thrilled. The image is sophisticated yet fun, just like the book, and I’m hoping the teen market will gobble it up.

I recently came across your website while looking for writing sites, and I think your blog would be a great fit for WEbook.com’s new free writing tips widget!

I’ve been following your site, and I’ve noticed that you provide authors with a lot of great resources and advice to advance their craft and career. I’m with a new company called Filedby, Inc., and we’ve just launched filedbyauthor, the most comprehensive online marketing platform and directory of published author web pages on the internet. We are currently in Beta and many authors and readers have already signed up, claimed their page, and updated content.
I’m writing to you to see if you could share filedbyauthor with the authors and readers that follow your site. We think it is a great tool for authors and readers, and we would really appreciate your help in getting the word out. Below is the official press release, but please check out the site as well – https://www.filedby.com.
From Liz Rich:
I work for a new writers’ website called WordHustler.com. I wanted to reach out to you as I recently came this website and I thought you and your readers might be interested in learning about our site and services.
The story is newsworthy and true: two LA writers frustrated with the traditional method of submitting work to literary markets and screenplay competitions, invented a way to do it better and more cost-effectively. WordHustler.com is the first and only website to take care of the whole process of writing and submitting work. Our free database features over 4,000 agents, publishers, contests, and publications. Using WordHustler to send physical and digital submissions saves writers time so they can do what they’re supposed to be doing: WRITING!
I’d love you to take a look at our site: https://www.WordHustler.com. Since opening our doors a few months ago, we have already moved over 8 million words. We are very excited about our company, as are our over 3,000 members.
Write on!
Love, love the cover, Kath! Congrats!
Thanks, Therese! I was so thrilled with it. HC knows what they are doing, fer sure.
I love the cover image!! But where’s your name, eh? (Also, the font of the title is nice, but I’m wondering if the light blue with white stroke is maybe a little hard to read over the white dress? Just trying to be helpful!!)
Great teaser title and a cover that stands out to go with it. If I was browsing through the bookstore, this one would pop out at me.
The cover does exactly as you said, deliciously. Congratulations!
Gorgeous cover, Kathleen! Very alluring!
And your pen-name’s cool..
Congratulations Kathleen, you must be thrilled! What a great cover. My daughter just turned 11 and she’s an avid reader. Is your book too old for her?
Thanks everyone. Kristen, this is a book written for Working Partners. If the series takes off, there could be many “Cassidy Calloways”. Lorna, this book is for the teen market, but it’s very tame. My own daughter is 12, and I had no problems letting her read it.
Congratulations, Kathleen! It’s a gorgeous cover, and I’m sure the store inside is every bit as captivating, too!
