Book Marketing and PR Part XV: Connection and Purpose
By Ann Marie Nieves | December 9, 2024 |
I have some homework for you.
For 2025, I want you to really think about two things: connection and purpose.
Try to…
- Define your audience.
Consider how you will…
- Connect to your audience.
Describe yourself…
- In just three words
Describe your writing…
- In three words?
What influences your work…
- Your professional background, culture, passions, hobbies and/or interests?
What do you want readers…
- To take away from your work?
Answer this question honestly…
- How much do you really know about PR, marketing, and social media?
If you have questions, you can always email me – am@getredpr.com – or drop a comment below. Wishing Writer Unboxed readers a very happy and healthy holiday season.

Thank you for the prompts, Ann-Marie, and for all of your contributions here in 2024. You’ve made us savvier, without question. Happy Holidays to you and yours. See you in 2025!
See you in 2025!
Thanks Ann Marie, these are my goals for the New Year. Beth
Good luck!
Dear Ann-Marie,
I so need to start to do something, if I only I knew just what that something was, and I could afford to do it, and was brave enough to do it, to get the little “Spirit teaches a simple seeker …” books to those who would relate to them, enjoy reading them, and possibly learn something about how to develop a more satisfied way of life, from them. I now know they belong in the Self-Help area of a bookstore more than they do in any spiritual area. The title of the series (it’s still on-going) can be deceiving, for though it describes a simple seeker and her inner teacher, it’s not as mystical as I once seemed to suspect that it was becoming. It’s more the format of a simple and yet fairly intelligent woman who had experienced many stressful life situations, and seemed to be into a one-to-one therapy situation – ongoing mini sessions with a wise and caring higher level of her own mind. It may sound crazy to some, and perhaps to many, but that is my personal situation, and in sharing my experience with others, via the little books, I’m developing an ever-deeper awareness of my own emotional development. Perhaps I was always a little emotionally immature, or undeveloped? Who knows? I seemed to need to rationalize everything, and yet we are also emotional beings.
The long and the short of it all is that your email seemed to have arrived as I had made a commitment to myself (and to Spirit – whatever and/or whomever He is) that 2025 will be a year to get out there and do something to promote these dear little books.
Thank you for your inspiration.
Love,
Jean
(a simple seeker)
