January Roundup: Hot Tweetables from #WU
By Heather Webb | January 25, 2014 |
I think it’s safe to say we’re all psyched to see the end of January, of long dark days and the infamous Polar Vortex. The only thing keeping us warm is the litany of publishing news. This month we saw research proving print sales aren’t decreasing, but remaining steady and growing in some areas, in spite of trends of increased e-reading. We grew ecstatic over the Digital Book World Conference and the importance placed on putting the author first. Not to mention, we marked our calendars for the next Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest, which now has a set date. There’s plenty more juicy news where that came from. Get started with the links below!

Do you have great links you’d like to share? Post them in the comments and the best will be featured this month with your handle in the #WU Tweet stream!
I’m years behind the rest of the writing world – I don’t have a Twitter or a Kindle or an eThis or an iThat. You can call me a stubborn traditionalist but I call it being poor :)
That said, I’m going to cling to this little nugget for a little while: “…print sales aren’t decreasing, but remaining steady and growing in some areas…”
YAY! Print books FTW!!! :) :) :)
(what’s that? we’re still losing 95kajillion-16? but…that game’s not over… right?)
Wasn’t that a nice gem to see? I think everyone in the industry is celebrating!
Heather, thanks again for organizing and sending out these great links. Interesting stuff to get us through the doldrums of winter.
My pleasure, Blake. Thank you for reading!
Hey, an agent that accepts fantasy. That’s a rare and bright jewel among this trove. ;-) Thanks Heather! Always love this post.
They do seem hard to come by, don’t they? I’ll be on the look out for those, Vaughn, and make sure I get them posted. :)
Thanks for posting! Really appreciate these, especially the agent alerts.
I’m glad you find them helpful, Kendra! Thanks for your comment.
