Writer Unboxed + The Red Cross Auction = *15* Bloody Great Opportunities
By Therese Walsh | March 1, 2011 |
Author Holly Tucker was in touch with me several months back. She wrote:
I’m pairing up with the Red Cross for a book-focused online fundraiser during Red Cross Month in March. I’d love it if the Writer Unboxed gang jumped in with a few great donations for the cause!
And so it began.
Kath and I put out the call to our contributors, and the call was answered until we had a whole array of offerings: books and services and cool opportunities (oh, my!). We’re happy to announce that the WU gang has donated 15 items to be auctioned off over the course of five weeks. More good news: Bidding on week-one items starts today.
We sincerely hope that you’ll support this endeavor and bid on items of interest–not just items put up by WUers, but those put up by the many authors, editors, agents, publicists, booksellers, designers, marketers, and bloggers contributing to the auction. Every cent earned goes to The Red Cross.
So what is WU donating, exactly? I’ll link to everything here, but only some of these items are available to bid on today (auction week noted at the end of the item’s description).

What a tremendous auction! If only I could decide which item… got to prioritize my bid. Therese – you two do a tremendous job with this site. No wonder it’s in the Top 10 Writing sites! :) Keep up the quality content, contests, and interviews!
Fantastic! What a great cause!!
I love the “Book Club in a Box” idea. And I’m not surprised at the generosity of everyone here. That spirit shows every day on this blog. :)
A great idea for a great cause. Brilliant!
I am crazy-excited for this — and proud to be a participant along with so many generous souls from the Writer Unboxed family.
Ooh, that guest blog spot is a killer idea! WTG, WU peeps.
WOW. My brain is whirling at the possibilities. What a slew of fantastic opportunities, and all supporting one of the best causes ever. I’m O-neg and I love a blood drive, myself. This is like the perfect combination of what keeps my heart beating and what makes my heart beat faster! GREAT job, WU.
I love how everyone comes together to support great causes such as this–I will definitely post on my blog, facebook and twitter about the auctions. :)
What a lovely thing you guys are doing! This is exactly why I love WU.
