LOL! That is totally me! I’m printing that out and putting it on the wall by my desk haha

Ha! I am like that. My writer friends are like that.
    You nailed it! :)

  3. Therese Walsh on October 2, 2010 at 8:38 am

Hahaha! Oh, yeah. Truth! Thanks, Debbie!

Great cartoon with a painfully true insight into a writer’s psyche.

  9. Eric J. Krause on October 2, 2010 at 9:32 am

Plenty of truth in this one. I have to fight so hard with each manuscript not to fall into that trap.

  10. Deb Salisbury on October 2, 2010 at 9:43 am

ROFL! — Oh, oh. That’s me!

  11. CBlaire on October 2, 2010 at 10:03 am

    Uber true!!!!!!!

  12. Lisa on October 2, 2010 at 11:55 am

    Oh! That’s where I belong!

  13. Rima on October 2, 2010 at 1:51 pm

Dang. I’ve got the opposite problem — Obsessive Compulsive Submitting Disorder. I often submit too soon, without having edited enough! I wonder if that makes me a Type C writing personality???

  14. Kristan Hoffman on October 2, 2010 at 2:59 pm

I don’t have this problem, but I’m definitely that person holding the writer back away from their manuscript, for at least 1 writer buddy I know. ;P

  15. Jeanne on October 2, 2010 at 3:06 pm

Great image! I am taping a copy to my computer as a reminder to stay strong.
Hmmm, maybe I should start a support group for real?

  16. Keli Gwyn on October 2, 2010 at 7:56 pm

I could be a charter member of this group. You should see my finger shake when I finally hit “send” and zap my manuscript to my agent. =)

  17. Caro on October 3, 2010 at 12:47 am

I once had a roommate snatch an envelope out of my hands and shove it in the mailbox after listening to me dither about “one more pass”.

I’m going to have to post this near my desk.

  18. Andrea on October 3, 2010 at 7:36 am

Ha! When’s the next group meeting? I so need to be there.

  19. Ally on October 3, 2010 at 8:41 am

Where do I sign up for one of those? I think I need it!

  20. Rahma on October 3, 2010 at 10:58 am

It took 3 years and countless revisions to write my book, Guardian Cats. I still have a hard time saying ‘it’s finished’. So glad I’m in good company! Thanks for the laugh.

And then deadlines were invented. :)

I even do this once it’s published. It’s awful.
