    LOLOLOLOL! SO. TRUE!

But you know, I don’t mind never being on vacation. For me, it’s less about turning my writing brain off, and more about turning my internet off. Also my internal editor/doubter. THAT’s how I really relax (when I can manage it).

Oh, I love this! And it’s SO true. Trying to take a break since I *just* finished my YA novel, I am spending every waking moment in my head creating the NEXT one!!

  4. Beth S on July 17, 2010 at 10:12 am

LOL! That was me last week. All three of them!

  5. Emily on July 17, 2010 at 10:36 am

:D This is great. Wonderful timing too, as I’m about to leave for vacation. I think like that a lot, but hopefully I’ll be able to shut out the inner voice enough to relax and have fun.

LOL! So true. And I have a beach date lined up soon, so I expect to say it again this year!

  8. Melissa Gill on July 17, 2010 at 11:08 am

OMG, this is exactly what I plan on doing on my vacation, only in the mountains.

LOL This is hilarious. Everywhere I go, I’m always thinking about stories, new blog posts, etc. Writers are never on vacation! haha

  13. Amanda on July 17, 2010 at 3:32 pm

That’s funny. Just went on vacation and I wished I had my laptop more than once.

  14. Indigo on July 17, 2010 at 5:10 pm

Writers may take vacations, but I don’t their minds ever truly stop writing. (Hugs)Indigo

I know the feeling! I would love to trade my desk for a few minutes at the beach.

  19. Jan O'Hara on July 18, 2010 at 5:11 pm

LOL. You *nailed* this one. :-)

  20. Kat on July 18, 2010 at 5:39 pm

    Hilarious!

Then there’s people like me who don’t do beaches, so we find a cafe in a town we don’t live in and write whilst sipping tea and munching thoughtfully on some local treat.

“Huh? Fun? This *is* fun, what do you mean?”

  21. […] This is totally what I meant! Imagine the bikini-clad writer lying on the towel wearing hiking boots and a baseball cap and you’ll get a good idea of my affliction. […]

  22. Sophie Masson on July 21, 2010 at 5:48 am

    Great comic! And so true!

  23. Lisa Brackmann on July 22, 2010 at 1:37 am

  24. Ashley Nelson on July 28, 2010 at 9:36 pm

LOL Oh my word! It’s so true! Writers can never stop thinking about writing even on vacation. Even I cannot stop.

LOL! I’m on vacation and my mind doesn’t stop. Mistake bringing an iPad!

  27. Maureen McGowan on May 31, 2012 at 3:58 pm

Great one, Debbie! I feel like I haven’t had a vacation since I started to write. I might look lazy some times, but mind is a hamster on a wheel…
